Project 1 - Assignment 1

Upon reading The Poor Image, there was a statement Hito Steyerl makes about video and DVD footage/images: "Obviously, a high-resolution image looks more brilliant and impressive, more mimetic and magic, more scary and seductive than a poor one. It is more rich, so to speak". Im curious if the distortion of light will affect this image in a negative way or if the image, although distorted, can still be portrayed as "impressive". I am hoping to blur and overlay the image to create an abstraction of light and colours, where the distorted image creates a feeling rather than capturing a high-resolution memory.

Idea: Blur and digitally overlay the image to create a distortion of colour and lights.
